To enter the competition, simply fill out the application form and submit your entry by October 31, 2021. Only one entry can be made per individual and all entrants must be based in Europe (see Terms & Conditions for more information). Submissions will be judged 2 weeks after the application deadline.   • How do I apply?  Simply fill out the form detailing how you would utilize Abby in your lab and submit by October 31, 2021.
  • Who is eligible for this competition? The competition is open to individuals working in academic research institutes in Europe. Other restrictions may apply.
  • What is the judging criteria? Each entry will be judged based by our team of ProteinSimple and Bio-Techne scientists on how well the entry reflects scientific merit, innovation, and fit with the Abby instrument.
  • What is required if I win? The winner is required to be available for participation in promotional activities in the first 18 months following announcement of the award. This could include a webinar, a case study or researcher in the spotlight/website/newsletter story features. For more information, refer to the Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions
By submitting your entry, you agree that you are authorized to agree to these terms on behalf of your institution/Company, and that your institution/Company agrees to submit its entry subject to these binding terms. “You” and “your” shall refer to your Institution/Company, as applicable. “We”, “Us” or “Our” includes ProteinSimple. If you do not agree to these terms, do not click the “SUBMIT” box above, and do not participate in this offer. Contest terms:
1) The competition is only open to institutions and Companies working in research institutes in Europe. Other restrictions may apply.
2) Method of communication is English. Entries not submitted in English will not be eligible.
3) One entry only per institution or Company. Once you have submitted your entry, you may not amend it. Applications must be submitted by 23:59 CET, October 31, 2021 to qualify.
4) Qualified entries will be judged by a team of ProteinSimple scientists for appropriateness and completeness in response.
5) One winner will choose an Abby instrument, with standard warranty, free of charge.
6) No purchase is required to enter.
7) The winner of the instrument agrees to make Abby datasets available to ProteinSimple 120 days after the grand prize announcement, for internal review.
8) The winner of the grant agrees to be available for reasonable promotional activities at ProteinSimple’s request for a period of 18 months following announcement of the prize award. Promotional activities may include (but are not limited to):
  • Case Studies
  • Webinars
  • Researcher in the Spotlight/Website/Newsletter story features
  • In-person seminars
  • Video and photoshoots with prizes.
9) If the grant winner is unable to take delivery of the prizes within 45 days of the announcement of the award, ProteinSimple reserves the right to award the prize to another entrant who can take delivery within 45 days of announcement.
10) ProteinSimple and Bio-Techne employees and contractors (and their immediate families) are not eligible to participate in this offer.
11) By submitting your entry, you agree to all of the terms and conditions listed both above and below in these terms and conditions.
12) Once submitted, your materials and information cannot be returned.
13) You agree to obtain all authorizations and permissions from your Institution/Company or others that are required to allow you to make this submission and have your name and the name of your institution name used for all purposes, including marketing, by ProteinSimple or its affiliates without any compensation and with or without attribution, regardless of whether your entry wins the contest. You also agree personally to all the authorizations and permissions required by these terms and conditions.
14) You agree that the use of your submission by ProteinSimple does not violate any rule, policy, copyright, trademark, patent, or procedures of your Institution/Company or that of any other person. Participation in submission does not implead on intellectual property of the results.
15) You acknowledge and agree that any submission made hereunder is not being made in exchange for any promise of business to ProteinSimple.
16) ProteinSimple will have full, sole and absolute discretion regarding which submissions are selected as the winners of this competition.
17) ProteinSimple reserves the right to discontinue or modify this program at any time for any reason. In such event, ProteinSimple will notify and inform all already submitted entrants via e-mail. In the event of discontinuance, ProteinSimple will have no liability to you, your employees, and agents or team members for such cancellation or modification.
18) ProteinSimple may refuse to consider a submission if ProteinSimple determines in its sole discretion that awarding the prize to the entrant would likely result in a violation of an applicable law, rule, or policy, including, but not limited to, if contrary to the law where you reside.
19) IN NO EVENT SHALL PROTEINSIMPLE, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER ARISING UNDER OR AS A RESULT OF ENTRANCE IN OR PARTICIPATION IN THE OFFER, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT PROTEINSIMPLE IS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
